Margit J. Mayer nació en Austria y comenzó su carrera periodística en Viena en 1983 en la revista WIENER. Siempre le han interesado la moda y la cultura contemporánea, lo que le permitió colaborar como redactora y editora en importantes publicaciones alemanas como MännerVogue, Vogue, GQ, ELLE y Stern.
