“You may have the universe,” composer Giuseppe Verdi once said, “if I can have Italy.” Back in the mid-19th century, Verdi’s emotive language appealed to the patriotic sentiments of an emergent nation state. À propos des auteurs

Giovanni Fanelli, profesor de Historia de la Arquitectura en la Universidad de Florencia, es autor de varias obras de historia de la arquitectura, historia urbana, artes gráficas y fotografía, que han sido traducidas a diferentes idiomas; fue director científico de la Fondazione Ragghianti (Lucca) y actualmente dirige algunas publicaciones de ediciones Laterza (Roma).

El diseñador gráfico, fotógrafo y coleccionista Marc Walter (1949–2018) se especializó en fotografías de viaje antiguas (vintage), en especial fotocromos, de las que atesoró una de las colecciones más grandes del mundo. Publicó numerosos libros ilustrados con piezas de su colección, así como con fotografías propias bajo su sello Swan Éditeur.

Sabine Arqué es documentalista, iconógrafa y escritora. Ha colaborado en numerosos libros sobre viajes, historia del turismo y fotografía.
