Spécialiste de l'histoire de l'architecture, de la construction et de l'urbanisme des XIXe et XXe siècles, Bertrand Lemoine a été commissaire de plusieurs expositions et a publié de nombreux articles sur l'architecture et l'histoire des structures en fer et en métal, ainsi que plusieurs ouvrages sur Gustave Eiffel. Lemoine est directeur des publications Architecture Acier Construction et Acier, revue d'architecture. Il a été rédacteur en chef d'AMC-Le Moniteur Architecture et de L'Acier pour Construire. Il est président de l'Académie d'architecture.
