Dans ce livre, les aspects suivants liés à l'exploration des champs d'écoulement ont été étudiés. Tout d'abord, une nouvelle méthode de reconstruction a été développée, qui utilise une opération de filtre basée sur la physique pour générer un champ de vitesse qui est cohérent avec le modèle d'écoulement sous-jacent décrit par les équations de Navier-Stokes. La direction interactive de ce processus est obtenue en exploitant le matériel graphique programmable pour les calculs numériques et la visualisation des champs de flux 2D.
