With the growing influence of information technologyon all areas of life, the way people and companiesconduct business was (and still is) influenced andadaptation of new technologies and paradigms (such asService Oriented Architecture - SOA) is of highestinterest.This book will address one of the hot topics, whichsupport the alignment of IT and business, namelyService Level Agreements. The underlying assumptionof this thesis is that with some enhancements and amerge of existing technologies, SLAs can be madeproduct ready for certain industrialdomains. Starting from a set of use cases from differentdomains (eHealth, car crash simulations andvisualization), a SLA schema and an associatedmanagement framework architecture are derived andevaluated with respect to the use cases.In addition an outlook is given on future researchtopics to allow for further enhancement in thisrespective topic.The solutions presented in the book were partiallyderived from work of the author within national andinternational research activities such as SLA4D-Grid,BREIN, NextGRID or BEinGRID.

Bastian Koller received 2011 a PhD in mechanical engineering fromthe University of Stuttgart and a diploma in computer sciencefrom the University of Würzburg in 2004. He worked in manynational and international research activities realizing Grid andCloud Computing frameworks. From 2006 to 2010 he was TechnicalManager of the IST BREIN project.
