Synopsis

The book explores development communication in rural western Kenya by examining the different modes of communication used to pass development messages as well as the type of language used to convey information to the target communities. It examines in detail the identified modes and provides a suggestion of the most appropriate language and mode of communication to use. Lastly, it also provides a model of dissemination of development messages to the rural folk especially where development projects are being implemented.

Biographie de l'auteur

Dr Omondi Oketch obtained his PhD in 2006 from University of the Western Cape, South Africa. He specializes in Language use and communication. He currently lectures at Maseno University in Kenya.He is also a development communication consultant with a bias on participatory methodologies.
