Synopsis

This research, using system dynamics methodology, investigates the impact of supply disruption between any two players on performance of a multiplayer supply chain system comprising Retailer, Wholesaler, Distributor and Factory. A general theory of disruption propagation, downstream and upstream, from the point of disruption has been developed. The impact of disruption location and duration is analyzed, revealing that increased length shifts location of maximum impact upstream, other parameters remaining same.

Ankit Jain is a postgraduate in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay with specialization in Supply Chain Management. He has work experience in Procurement, Distribution and Supply Chain Analytics in corporates including Hewlett Packard and Target.
