Synopsis

Collaboration among businesses is currentlyconsidered to be driver for growth, cost reductionand innovation in many industries. Collaborationtogether with technology and visibility is the wayhow to improve complex multinational supply chains.This publication describes new concepts ofcollaborative planning in supply chains. Thetheoretical part depicts developments of supply chainplanning from 60s until recent time and showspossible solutions of common supply chain planningproblems in form of modern collaborative practices(e.g. Quick Response, Continuous Replenishment,Vendor-managed Inventory, Efficient ConsumerResponse). In further parts, the work mainly focuseson CPFR (Collaborative Planning Forecasting andReplenisment) concept. There is a separate chapterdevoted to benchmarks and pilots of CPFR. In additionto that, practical research of one particular exampleof CPFR implementation was conducted in cooperationwith companies T-Mobile (Deutsche Telekom AG) andNokia. Results of this research can be found in thelast chapter.

Ing. Olga Nýdlová, CEMS MIM comes from the Czech Republic andstudied International Trade at the University of Economics,Prague. In addition, she passed the CEMS Master's inInternational Management program. Olga's minor specializationwere logistics and supply chain management.
