Subject of this work is the development of a new explicit FE modeling approach for the numerical analysis of the transient response-especially phase interface failure-of solids at the mesoscale. This involves the extension of a non-locking linear simplicial continuum element formulation, the proposition of a compatible initially rigid cohesive element formulation as well as their combination and analysis with regard to the targeted application.
