The book makes and attempt to understand how Informal sector can be a Source of Self Reliance among the Rural Community .Further the book elaborates on status of manual scavengers,basket sellers women and Dhangar Community. Dr.B.V.Bhosale, worked as lecturer in Sociology,Smt.Parvatibai Chowgule College,Goa(1992-95),Chetna College, Mumbai,1995-96, Dept.of Sociology,University of Pune,(1996-2000),*Prof.Dept.of Sociology, University of Pune,April 2009 -6th July 2009. Presently as Assoc Prof.,Dept.of Sociology,University of Mumbai,since 2000.
