Most of the heat transfer industries such as industrial steel mills, glass plants and forging shops, foundry process and furnaces are focusing on energy efficient strategies and implementing new technologies to increase the furnace efficiency, reduced process time and increased productivity rate with low emissions.Presently utilization of thermal energy is being done in different methods using different types of devices, engines etc., Boilers, IC Engines, Heat Exchanges and furnaces are such type of derives. Efficiency of these devices can be improved by optimizing various parameters.It is observed that if the heat transfer rate of any combustion mode is further increased which tend to enhance the thermal efficiency of furnace further thereby its production capacity. The main aim of the project work is to implement the new material yttria to the furnace instead of brick and analyze the temperature changes in the furnace.Project was done in two phases i.e.,from 2008-09 & 2009-2010 respectively.
