Synopsis

This study established the effect of management training on organizational development, the constraints that community based organizations face in enhancing organizational development and the extent to which management skills have been acquired through training. This study also established the possible strategies that training organizations can employ in order to enhance acquisition of skills.This study was guided by Gestalt Organizational Systems Development Theory (2004) which was developed by the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland. This theory states that Organizational change is fundamental to the success of capacity building and adaptive change. Survey research design was used for this study. The study population comprised of the officials and the ordinary members of the community based organizations (C.B.Os) drawn from 50 C.B.Os supported by World Vision Kenya. Out of these a sample of 20 C.B.Os that have already undergone training from the whole population was selected using purposive sampling technique.

Biographie de l'auteur

A handbook on Management Training and Organizational Development considers the basic concepts of Management Training as a critical aspect of Organizational and Institutional Development. Stanley Kipkelwon is currently a lecturer at Moi University and holds a Masters Degree in Human Resource development and a Bachelors Degree in Wildlife Management
