Synopsis

Many surgical diseases can be treated only by extirpation of the organ or a part thereof; correction of pathophysiological process is not possible. Second and more important, it enables the surgeon to understand physiological derangements that may result from surgery. This knowledge would help the surgeon in long-term postoperative management of the patient. Perusal of this book is expected to result in clearer thinking and sound clinical care of the surgical patients. This book is expected to be useful to every surgical trainee and even a practicing surgeon who desires to re-educate himself in pathophysiology of surgical disorders.
