Information on virulences and their distribution and frequency is very useful for breeding programs to develop wheat cultivars with effective resistance. The resistance genes identified in the wheat materials through gene postulation and molecular markers, especially those with adult-plant resistance, will be useful for breeding wheat cultivars with durable resistance.

Biographie de l'auteur

Dr.Syed Jawad Ahmad Shah is a principal scientist leading wheat rust program at Nuclear Institute for Food & Agricuture, Pakistan having expertise’s in wheat-rust analyses and resistance screening. Dr.Shaukat Hussain, Professor of Plant Pathology, NWFP Agricultural University, Pakistan. Both have several publications in impact factor journals.
