Herbal drug powders may be formulated into modern tablet dosage form by selecting suitable size reduction method to get a specific size of the particles and altering those particle size with the use of direct compression mechanism by the use of directly compressible vehicle at a particular concentration, which could be determined by the micromeritic analysis using Kawakita, Heckel, Leuenberger equations as well as the powder of a specific particle size may also be converted into tablet dosage form by the wet granulation method by using certain excipient at a specific concentration, which could be determined by the micromeritic analysis using Kawakita, Heckel, Leuenberger equations to get optimum size of granules having desired free flowing and compression characteristics to prepare tablet. The methods may be suitable to utilize in commercial field to produce herbal powder into modern tablet dosage forms and viable commercially as stable dosage forms.
