Synopsis

This volume pays homage to Monika Seidl, a key figure of cultural studies at the University of Vienna’s Department of English and American Studies and spotlights her many achievements in the field. Barbara Maly-Bowie is a lecturer in cultural and media studies at the University of Vienna.

Annegret Pelz, Key Researcher der Forschungsplattform »Mobile Kulturen und Gesellschaften« und seit 2018 Professorin i. R. für Neuere deutsche Literatur (Literaturtheorie) an der Universität Wien. Gastdozentin am BIT, Beijing University of Technologie seit 2013. Promotion zur Europa-, Orient- und Welt-Reiseliteratur von Autorinnen (18.–20. Jahrhundert), Habilitation mit einer Arbeit über »Tischszenen. Inszenierung und Verräumlichung des Schreibens in der Moderne«. Arbeitsschwerpunkte: Literatur des 18.–21. Jahrhunderts, kulturwissenschaftliche, medien- und literaturtheoretische Fragestellungen, Schreib- und Tischszenen, Mobilität und Medialität: Momentaufnahmen, kleine Formen, portable Archive.

Elisabeth Lechner is a post-doctoral lecturer at the University of Vienna. She also works as a consultant on the politics of digitisation at the Austrian Chamber of Labour’s Office for Digital Affairs.

Prof. Dr. Alexandra Ganser ist Leiterin der Forschungsplattform »Mobile Kulturen und Gesellschaften« und Professorin für Amerikanistik an der Universität Wien.

Eva Maria Schörgenhuber is a university assistant and PhD student at the University of Vienna.
