Synopsis

Academic research is an invaluable part for the award of an academic degree. Experience over the years has shown that most students are not familiar with this very important and interesting aspect of their academic programme. Very many of them have resorted into copying of research works whose authors are less schooled in the act of research writing or whose work was badly supervised. As a stopgap arrangement, this book teaches the a, b, c, of research writing in a very simple and understandable language. The basic intention here is to aid the students in putting what? At where? And when? This book which is written in simple language and is divided into two sections: Section A addresses the basic concepts of research methods while Section B is related to the application of statistical tools in social and behavioural sciences research. The two sections of the book arepresented in fourteen chapters for clarity purposes.

Dr. Olubunmi Akinsanya Alo is an Associate Professor of Medical Sociology in Landmark University, Omu Aran-Kwara State, Nigeria. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree with specialization in Medical Sociology and Demography. He is the Dean, Students Affairs, Landmark University. Dr. Alo is widely published and happily married with children.
