He passed his Graduation Degree (First class Hons. and distinction with position) and M.A. and M.Phil. Degree in Education (Topper) from Utkal University, Bhubaneshwar. While exploring his career, Dr. Basantia did undergo / came across the specialized courses like, 2 yrs B.Ed. (First class, distinction and Topper) from Regional Institute of Education (Utkal University), Bhubaneshwar and PGDDE from IGNOU, New Delhi. He got UGC-NET two times and he is a UGC-JRF awardee. He got his Ph.D. from Regional Institute of Education (Utkal University), Bhubaneshwar in 2006.He was a UGC-Junior Research Fellow in Ravenshaw (Auto) College, Cuttack, for a period around one year and was a UGC-Junior and Senior Research Fellow in Regional Institute of Education (NCERT), Bhubaneshwar for a period around two and half years. Dr. Basantia started his professional career as a Lecturer in Deptt. of Education (UG), Mizoram (Central) University, Aizwal and there he worked around one and half years. Presently he is working as an Assistant Professor in Deptt. of Edcuation, Assam University.
