Synopsis

DCarS is a driving rules and regulations training program designed for use on handheld devices. This thesis presents DCarS (Drive Car Safely), a software product developed to help pre-permit, permit and licensed drivers increase or refresh their knowledge, skills, abilities and attitudes necessary for driving safely. DCarS can be installed on handheld devices such as mobile phones or PDAs and used anytime and anywhere. DCarS helps the user to learn basic and important driving rules, traffic signs and state laws. The software includes questions and tests which verify the user’s knowledge of the subjects and can store the results for future assessments. This thesis also describes the operating principles of DCarS and presents details of the software specification, design, and prototype implementation. It also includes a brief comparison with related approaches and suggests directions of future work.

Biographie de l'auteur

Moynul Haque received his MS degree in Computer Science from the University of Nevada Reno, USA. He is currently working as Sr. Engineer at Aristocrat Technologies in USA. He has also worked for IGT and Harley Davidson in Software Engineering field. His research and interest are writing apps for handheld devices and software automation test.
