Synopsis

Strawberry cultivation becomes popular in the late 60’s of twentieth century in India, and emerged as a remunerative fruit crop, capable of giving quickest return in the shortest possible time. By the virtue of wide edapho-climatic adaptability and high monetary return, strawberry cultivation is being adopted in different parts of the world especially by the small and marginal farmers. Optimum nutrient supply through balanced integration of organic, inorganic and biological sources is of great relevance in commercial cultivation of strawberry and one of the most important factor governing quality attributes of fruit like size, TSS, sugars, acidity, anthocyanin pigmentation etc. Strawberry fruits are highly perishable and mainly used for the table purposes hence quality attributes of fruits plays important role in marketing of produce. The present investigations on strawberry cv. Chandler were carried out to standardize integrated nutrient supply through combination of organic, inorganic and biological sources, with objective to obtain higher productivity and excellent quality of strawberry fruits.
