Human resource is becoming the main sources of competitive advantage for contemporary organizations.One mechanism of developing human resource in an organization is the use of training and development program.However most organizations in Ethiopia have no clear training and development policy and responsible body. Moreover, training programs may be conducted without suffient need analysis and its impact may not be evaluated. Hence, this book demonstrates the process of human resource training and development practice of non-profit organizations taking Action Aid Ethiopia as a case study. It covers areas such as: training and development need identification, developing the curriculum, trainer selection, method of training, getting feedback, the support among colleagues to apply the skills and knowledge to work, and the effort of trainees to transfer knowledge and skills in to the real work and job situations ,and overall program evaluation. It also shows the need to have a widely shared policy for training development in an organization. Hence, it helps for Individuals and organizations managing human resource training and development and conducting researches in this area

Honeligne Eshetie Arega is a lecturer in the Accounting and Finance Program of Bahir Dar university. He has BA degree in Accounting, MBA in Human Resource management and is now attending PhD in Commerce in Management accounting. He had worked as an accountant at Ethio-Telecom and Organizational Reform member at Addis Ababa University.
