Sex is a biological division of male and female, where as gender is a social constraint. Historically, works have been segregated based on sex. The commercialization of every work has eliminated the participation bias for each work. Today the entitlements are the driving forces which determine where to work whom to handle a particular work. Hence there are no restrictions for both male and female where, he or she has to work. Therefore, male and female should have equal share in each economic activity. India has the potential of young and energetic human beings to carry-out the responsibilities as entrepreneur. But majority of them do not have sufficient funds, family support, education, training and healthy environment to start entrepreneurial activities particularly with reference to women.

Dr. Premakumara, G.S. is assistant professor of Economics at University of Mysore where he has taught since 1999. His research interests include Human development and Infrastructure and the teaching of Econometrics. The co-author of this book Anitha Priya Govias is a research fellow in Planning Commission of India Chair, University of Mysore.
