Synopsis

This book is a humble contribution of the authors for the banking community and students of banking and finance, computer and IT projects for their initial understanding of the automation processes and systems of banks in Pakistan and similar developing countries. The manuscript starts with an introduction of different products and services being offered by banks, now called e-banking, electronic bank or Internet banking. It proceeds to highlight the need for automation of manual operation to the computerized systems. The major parts of the study comprises of the systems analysis, system design, system evaluation and development. The study has been based to develop an automated bank system, taking MCB (Muslim Commercial Bank of Pakistan) as a case. The study is first of its kind an effort to present a complete set of procedures and protocols for development of an automation project for banks and similar financial institutions, feasible for developing countries, like Pakistan
