It is commercially utilized in industry for preparation of malt, beer,whiskey,vinegar and medicinal tonics like horlex, maltova, and barley syrup etc. To boost up the production there is urgent need of breeding high yielding disease resistant varieties of barley suited to different situation so that this crop can fulfill its potential in combating the malnutrition prevalent in primarily vegetarian population of the world.

Biographie de l'auteur

Dr.Rudrasen Singh was born in India.He did his M.Sc.(Ag)and Ph.D in Plant Breeding and Genetics from N.D.U.A.&T Faizabad India.He was part of the team which has to its credit release of two varieties one of Barley and other of Crotolaria.He has publised 14 research papers and articles in national journals.Persently he is working in JNKVV Jabalpur
