Synopsis
During his long career as a curator and publicist, Gerald Matt, the director of Kunsthalle Vienna, made the acquaintance of numerous international artists. This title features 40 interviews where Matt reveals a considerable talent to ask questions that allow artists the opportunity to make significant statements about their work. Included are interviews with important contemporary artists such as: Matthew Barney, Vanessa Beecroft, Candice Breitz, Steve McQueen, Shirin Neshat, Raymond Pettibon, Santiago Sierra, Francesco Vezzoli, Yang Fudong, and others. Numerous colour illustrations provide additional insight into their works.
