Synopsis
Photo Express: Tokyo is a facsimile of the legendary series of twelve booklets published by Keizo Kitajima on the occasion of his exhibition "Photo Express: Tokyo" at CAMP gallery in Tokyo in 1979. The booklets were numbered from one to twelve and one was released each month for a year. Each contained sixteen pages of photographs from Kitajima's legendary nocturnal wanderings in Tokyo and conveys the spirit of the happenings he organized at the time. Kitajima's original booklets have now become cult objects, and this new edition is set to become a collector's item.

Soft cover. Etat : As New. Sealed copy of this collection of 12 photo magazine presented in slipcase by the Japanese photographer. The magazines inside should be perfectly mint, even though the cardboard case is somewhat bumped / depressed (see photos). No sign at all of any wear to the interior contents. Besides the curvature to the front panel of the case there are some other parts lightly bumped as well, again with no indication of wear beyond the case. This new edition contains facsimiles of the complete set of monthly issues, originally published in conjunction with the yearlong photography exhibition by Japanese photographer Keizo Kitajima (b. 1954), held at the CAMP gallery, Tokyo from Jan.-Dec, in 1979. The groundbreaking exhibition featured the photographer's high-contrast b/w images from around the Tokyo area, and was novel in that he showed a new set of photographs every month for the duration of the year. Those images are shown here in each of the booklets, numbered 1 through 12 on the front covers. An included supplemental booklet contains additional images, and informative text in Japanese and English on the front and back covers. Booklets with some minor to light rubbing/and or creasing to extremities. Interiors clean and vibrant. Slipcase in near fine, booklets in very good to near fine condition overall.
