Das Buch ist anlässlich der 2012 in Innbruck stattfindenden Olympischen Jugend-Winterspiele aus einem Kunst & Bau Projekt der in Österreich lebenden brasilianischen Künstlerin Georgia Creimer entstanden. Internationale junge Künstler und Künstlerinnen waren eingeladen, ihre Idee eines Intimate Space durch jeweils ein Foto und einen Textbeitrag zum Ausdruck zu bringen. Die vielfältigen Beiträge wurden von Georgia Creimer für die künstlerisch-architektonische Intervention in den Wohnhäusern des Olympischen Dorfes approbiert und durch monochrome Einfärbung in den olympischen Farben verfremdet. Die gemeinsame Arbeit reflektiert die Bedeutung von Wohnen und Privatheit in einem interkulturellen Dialog und setzt damit der Grösse eines internationalen Sportereignisses die Intimität der Blicke auf besondere und individuelle Orte entgegen. The book evolved out of an artistic project for which young artists were invited on an international level to send in a picture and a short text expressing their notion of an Intimate Space . The Brasilian-Austrian artist Georgia Creimer appropriated the many different contributions for her artistic-architectonic intervention in the houses of the Olympic Village through monochrome colouring in the spectrum of the Olympic Rings. The joint work reflects the relevance of dwelling and privacy in an intercultural dialogue and juxtaposes a large-scale sports event with intimate glimpses of special, individual places.
