Modeste Herwig studied Dutch, but couldn t resist the temptation to follow in the footsteps of her father and grandfather. Her love of plants and an interest in garden architecture were always there. She started her work in the model gardens of her father Rob Herwig (the renowned garden book author with over 6 million copies sold) and has given many seminars on garden design. She is a successful photographer and author of many garden books and works for internationally renowned magazines. She travels extensively in Holland and abroad, to capture garden plants and new design ideas on film. Modest Herwig lives in Soest in the Netherlands.
