Synopsis

This is the eighth event of the Industrial Conference on Data Mining ICDM 2008 held in Leipzig. Six papers have been selected for poster presentations that are published in the ICDM Poster Proceeding Volume. In conjunction with ICDM are running two workshops facing on special hot application-oriented topics in data mining. They are also published in this proceeding book. The workshop Data Mining in Life Science DMLS 2008 is held the third time this year. Besides that we have newly introduced an International Workshop on Case-Based Resoning for Multimedia Data CBR-MD.
