Rachel is a successful model in L.A. . Tired of the shallowness of the fashion model industry, she, her dog and her best fiend Tunisha drive together to Joshua Tree in her 57 Thunderbird so she can take a time out. The visit of two catwalk models shows her how much she has distanced herself from this world. Things develop their own dynamic, her time out turns out to be something totally different. Rachel is looking for her Indian roots and meets the crazy Dominique who influences Rachel into rock Climbing. A car break down with the thunderbird brings Rachel back to reality. She is lost in the desert and experiences a habob (sand storm). Was all that just a dream? Photographer Rudi Arens is fascinated by the girls' authenticity, uniqueness, and beauty, the scenery of the national park and a piece of Southern California with the urban charm of route 66. The photos of the girls show more than a beautiful facade, to him it is important to get a feel for the personalities behind it and to make this visible.
