Buch. Etat : Neu. Mit Nele Hertling verbindet ihn eine enge Zusammenarbeit seit 1989.--Nele Hertling has had an unparalleled impact on the development of art in post-war Berlin and Germany: there is scarcely another figure on the cultural scene who can match the influence she has wielded. Over a period of more than sixty years, her dogged exchange of ideas with artists and cultural politicians has led to the creation of a unique network for dance, theatre, and music, as well as for initiatives relating to cultural policy, such as 'A Soul for Europe' (2004). This publication is dedicated to her life's work, to what drove her personally and as a member of society, and to her artistic vision of a Germany that was obliged to keep devising new ways to emerge from the traumatization caused by social and political guilt and find a path leading out of the destruction of culture towards a European perspective. With texts by: Bob Wilson, Wooster Group, Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker, Hugo de Greef, Hans-Jürgen Syberberg, Heiner Goebbels, Kathrin Deventer, Iztok Kovac, and othersNele Hertling, b. 1934, has worked at the Akademie der Künste Berlin for over sixty years, first as an employee, then later as a member of the academy, its vice-president (2006-2015) and, since 2017, the director of the Performing Arts Section.
