In the manner of colourful storyboards, drawn with calm strokes, composed, sober people do outrageous things: a dentist smashes everything in his treatment room to bits and then lies down on the floor to sleep; a woman cuts her clothes off in front of the mirror and then burns the shreds in the sink. Whether in drawing, sculpture or mural form, the work of Andreas Schmitten is as alluring as it is unsettling. He became famous for his strange sculptures with allusions to functionality and display cases polished to a high gloss. This artist's book presents Schmitten's newest drawings - in a meticulously designed volume with coloured page edges.
