Grey boards with white titles and photograph to front; blue endpapers, blue silk reading ribbon. Contents are in fine condition; boards are lightly creased at corners and spine edges. A rare, collectible copy. Gunther Rall (1918 - 2009), was a German WWII General and fighter ace and the third most successful fighter pilot in aviation history with 274 aerial victories. He was highly decorated officer and was the recipient of the Knight's Cross; his military career spanned nearly forty years. "Those who admire me for my 275 kills know nothing about war. They do not know what it means for a whole human life that one had to kill at a young age in order not to be killed oneself. They do not know the shame and grief of the survivor. War is not the continuation of politics by other means, but a disgrace; it is the complete bankruptcy of political action." Clarence Emil "Bud" Anderson (1922 - 2024) was an officer in the United States Air Force and a triple ace of World War II.
