Wolfram Schwabhäuser was a German mathematical logician, who studied model theory in geometry, and co-operated closely with Alfred Tarski and Wanda Szmielew over this book on the metamathematical foundation of Euclidean geometry, based on the Tarski axioms. A new forward in 2011 by Michael Beeson, Professor in the Math Department of San Jose State University, explains in lay terms the origins and differences between Euclidean and non-Euclidean geometries.

Biographie de l'auteur

Wolfram Schwabhäuser was born on May 20, 1931. He studied Mathematics and Physics at Humboldt-University in Berlin. His diploma in 1956 was for Über die Vollständigkeit der elementaren euklidischen Geometrie. He was with Stuttgart University until his death on December 27, 1985.
