It includes description, translation, and analysis of the three foreign sources of conversational speech in Muscovite Rus XVI-XVII centuries: The Prague Dictionary of Muscovites of 1586; The Russian-English Dictionary of Richard James (1618-1619); and the Russian Grammar by H.W. Ludolfi (1696). These three works published correspondingly in 1937, 1948, and 1959, along with the Larin's methodology of their analysis still retain their significance in studying medieval Rus.
