Petr Struve (1870-1944), the Russian economist and philosopher, the founder and chief editor of the publishing house YMCA-Press, developed as a social thinker during three Russian revolutions and the years of his emigration. All his life after emigration, he responded to major events in Russian and world political life in his essays and diary. Taken together they represent a liberal conservative direction in Russian political thought abroad in their vision of political, economic and social system in the soviet Russia and prospects of its development.
