Drawing on memories from Mexico City in the mid-twentieth century, Carlos M. Coria Snchez recreates snapshots of everyday life recognizable to the city’s inhabitants who once walked its streets: the tenement courtyards, neighborly coexistence, neighborhoods and customs. In the form of brief narratives, Reflections from the Old World invites us―through nostalgia―to learn more about the author, his surroundings, and the country’s context. In these pages, the reader discovers that time always grants us a distance from which to enjoy and appreciate the story that emerges from the Center of what was then the Federal District.
