Ce livre vise à aider à combler l'écart entre les normes et principes des droits de l'homme, d'une part, et leur mise en œuvre par le biais d'interventions de gouvernance, d'autre part. Ceux qui sont engagés dans des réformes de gouvernance se demandent souvent sur la pertinence des droits de l'homme dans leurs efforts. Comment les principes des droits de l'homme peuvent-ils être intégrés de manière significative dans les réformes de la gouvernance ? Dans quels types de politiques et d'initiatives ces principes se traduisent-ils? Une fois que les États auront adopté des cadres juridiques appropriés, comment peuvent-ils améliorer leur mise en œuvre grâce à des réformes de gouvernance ? En présentant des efforts innovants du monde entier pour concevoir et mener des réformes de gouvernance et protéger les droits humains, cette publication tente de montrer comment la gouvernance peut être réformée pour contribuer à la protection des droits humains. L'espoir est également que, ce faisant, cette publication inspirera les réformateurs, y compris les gouvernements, les militants des droits de l'homme, les praticiens du développement, les commissions nationales des droits de l'homme et les organisations nationales de la société civile.
