Synopsis

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Lake Moomaw is a lake in western Virginia. It is formed by the Gathright Dam on the Jackson River. The lake is named for Benjamin Moomaw, a local businessman who was a promoter of the dam project. Outlet from the lake can be released from nine portals at various depths, in order to control downstream water temperature and flow rates. A lake is a body of relatively still fresh or salt water of considerable size, localized in a basin, not to be confused with a lagoon, that is surrounded by land. Lakes are inland and not part of the ocean, and are larger and deeper than ponds.
