In 1983 he married Christine Mary Keiller. He became Rector of Silverhill, East Sussex in 1983 and has been in his current post since 2003. Silverhill is a suburb and Local Government Ward of Hastings, East Sussex. It has a central location within the town, where the A21 meets the B2159 road.
