In effect, this dissertation relies on Critical Discourse Analysis and Media Studies as theories. The study is conducted on the basis of their application on articles and editorials taken from different American newspapers. New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, National Enquirer, Las Vegas Review-Journal and New York Observer have been used as case studies.
