Synopsis
Le prototypage rapide (RP) est une technique de fabrication de pièces par la technologie de fabrication de couches additives ; lorsqu'un modèle tridimensionnel (3D) créé dans un système de conception assistée par ordinateur (CAO) est divisé en profils 2D, qui sont construits couche par couche. Cette technique a été utilisée pour construire des modèles tridimensionnels complexes en médecine depuis 1990. Sur la base de ce principe, les technologies courantes utilisées en dentisterie sont la stéréolithographie (SLA), le système à jet d'encre (impression 3D - 3DP) et le frittage laser sélectif (SLS). La technologie de prototypage rapide est en train de remplacer les procédures traditionnelles en dentisterie prothétique, en particulier dans la fabrication de prothèses maxillo-faciales, la dentisterie implantaire, éliminant la dépendance aux compétences artistiques du dentiste et du technicien et gagnant également du temps.
