This monograph addresses the problems arising from remote sensing and non-destructive control of natural media and engineering structures, including car roads. Construction, maintenance and repair of the last ones requires significant expenses, which increases the relevance and importance of optimizing resources allocated for these purposes. The mathematical model for processing the results of road pavement sensing, (the model reflects the relationship between the dielectric permittivity of the structure layers and the temporal distribution of the GPR signals), was created and confirmed experimentally. This model has formed the basis of methods for the quantitative evaluation of geometric parameters and subsurface inhomogeneities of road pavement. Laboratory and field surveys of pavement structures have confirmed the reproducibility and accuracy of methods for interpreting the measurement results, under condition of determinacy of the electrophysical characteristics of materials. The authors express the hope that it will be useful for students, undergraduates and postgraduates specializing in the design, construction and maintenance of highways and aerodromes or in the geodesy.
