Bhutan Development Bank Limited (BDB) was incorporated in January 1988, with assistance of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to function as a development finance institution (DFI). BDB is the only Bank that gives focus to the rural farmers and immediately assumed responsibility for the nation-wide credit program, which mainly provides seasonal, small and medium term loans to the country’s small farmers. In 2010, being a development bank, Bhutan Development Bank also started to function as a commercial bank. This consultancy research work is based on the topic: ‘Development of FOREX Business Flow for Bhutan Development Bank Limited’. The research extends to study the business flow of Authorized Money Changer in Bhutan and finding strategies to establish a viable market for BDBL. The business model presented to the client organization includes various ways in which the client organization can generate revenue through the business. Furthermore, convertible currencies always have fluctuations in their buying and selling prices and hence this model also suggests what BDBL should do during currency appreciation and depreciation.
