Synopsis
La forme de l'arc dentaire est l'arc, formée par les surfaces buccales et faciales des dents lorsqu'elles sont vues de leurs surfaces occlusales. La forme de voûte plantaire idéale universelle est l'une des tâches les plus persistantes mais exclusives pour la plupart des chercheurs en orthodontie. En ce qui concerne le traitement orthodontique, le principe de base de la forme de la voûte plantaire est que dans les limites raisonnables, l'arche d'origine du patient doit être préservée. Par conséquent, si les fils d'arc préformés doivent être utilisés, il faut garder à l'esprit que leur forme doit être considérée comme un point de départ pour l'ajustement nécessaire pour une bonne individualisation, car tous les fils d'arche préformés actuellement disponibles ne reflètent pas ces variations de la forme de l'arc. En raison de ces problèmes complexes et de la connaissance relativement faible des arcades dentaires, il n'y a pas de forme d'arc idéale universellement acceptée.
