Synopsis
This book deals with applications of GWO in control of Ball Hoop (BH) system and Automatic generation control (AGC) of two area interconnected non reheat thermal power system. Most of the swarm intelligent techniques used to solve the optimization problems do not have the leader to control over the entire period. This drawback is rectified in Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO), in which the grey wolves have natural leadership mechanism. Furthermore, GWO algorithm has fewer parameters and is easy to implement, making it superior to the other algorithms. Because of the versatile properties of GWO, attempts have been made to implement GWO in tuning the parameters of a PID controller.
