Synopsis
Il s'agit d'une étude originale menée en Inde. L'étude de conduction nerveuse est vraiment utile dans le diagnostic de diverses maladies comme la radiculopathie, la neuropathie, les troubles métaboliques induits par la neuropathie, etc. Il s'agit d'une étude normative en Inde centrale. Les nerfs périphériques peuvent généralement être facilement stimulés et amenés à un potentiel d'action avec une brève impulsion électrique appliquée sur la peau sus-jacente. L'examen électrodiagnostique, composé d'études de conduction nerveuse (NCV) et d'électromyographie à l'aiguille (EMG), est un complément utile à l'examen clinique du système nerveux périphérique. En évaluant le patient souffrant d'un traumatisme des extrémités, il peut différencier la neurapraxie de la transection axonale et peut être utile dans le suivi du cours clinique. NCV est un test de la vitesse des signaux à travers un nerf. Les études de conduction nerveuse aident à délimiter l'étendue et la distribution de la lésion neurale et à distinguer deux grandes catégories de démyélinisation de la maladie nerveuse périphérique et de dégénérescence axonale.
