Stainless steel weld defect is due to the number of process parameters, which make it difficult to achieve a defect free weld. Many non destructive testing (NDT) methods are used for quality assessment and detection of defects in welds and materials. The techniques vary according to weld material, weld thickness and weld process and code requirements. Ultrasonic testing in NDT is one of the largest applications in weld inspection.
