The book takes into consideration the Economics of Vertical Integration in Aquaculture production in Nigeria as it relates to the costs of constructing a concrete pond size capable of accommodating 1,000 fingerlings to maturity. The book also emphasizes the meaning, importance, advantages and disadvantages as well as factors that favour and discourage vertical integration and the constraints associated with vertically integrated aquaculture farms. It also looks at Value Chain Addition in aquaculture production as it affects food security in Nigeria. More importantly, the book emphasizes the types of feeds used in Nigeria as well as the quantity of such feeds needed for the production of 1,000 fingerlings to maturity. The different sizes of feeds used in feeding the fish and the duration per size up to the average maturity period of six months and its formulation. Besides, the author did not fail to stress on the economics of using well-processed local feeds for aquaculture production compared with the imported feeds like Coppens (Holland). Apart from the above, the book contains the method of harvesting, processing and distributing dried fish and its value in Nigeria.
