Rural Youth Network project is an incisive, in-depth and substantive research that, seeks to demystify multifaceted underlying issues that affect rural youth , while attempt to provide a tailor-made and efficacious local context specific solution to remedy the intractable youth issue.The author takes into cognizant that, Africa presents one of the youngest generations in the world, thus presenting the greatest comparative advantage in-terms of huge human and technical capital that calls for proper and sustainable approaches towards harnessing for sustainable development and transformation of the future generational leadership.Youth are the future of the agri-food system yet few young people see a future for themselves in agriculture especially in the rural areas. Youth account for 35.4% of Kenya’s population with 1,000,000 entering the labor market annually (Kenya Country Report on Youth Employment, 2014). It is estimated that 64% of unemployed Kenyans are youth with majority having moved away from rural Kenya and living in urban areas in Kenya’s cities and towns.
